| In a bid to support government’s vision of ‘Housing for All by 2022’, PNB Housing Finance Ltd on Thursday launched a special home loan scheme that can be availed by the salaried and self-employed professionals for a amount up to Rs 25 lakhs. The loan can be availed by individuals with income starting from Rs 10,000 per month and above. The move that would bring cheers to middle and lower income segment will enable them realise their dream of owning a home at affordable Equated Monthly Instalments (EMIs). Named ‘Unnati Home Loans’, the tenure of loan is up to 30 years with an option of fixed and floating interest rates, which will significantly lower the monthly outflow in terms of EMIs. It also offers the customers to opt for the loan on combined income of applicant and co-applicant. Customer can take loan up to 90 per cent of the property’s market value. These loans are being offered at interest rates starting at 10.50% p.a. It also offers the option of fixed rate for 3, 5 and 10 years that will shield the customer from market fluctuations. The documentation requirements are simple and is expected to encourage a larger customer base in the segment to reap the benefits of the scheme. Sanjaya Gupta, managing director, PNB Housing said, “Unnati is a focussed endeavour to reach out to employees of indigenous establishments and smaller SMEs. We are committed to help in bringing their dream of owning a home closer to them by providing such customized credit schemes. At PNB Housing, we extensively support the government’s vision of ‘Housing for All by 2022’ and ‘Unnati’ supports the low income groups.” With this scheme, PNB Housing Finance is eyeing individuals residing in peripheries of Tier I cities as well as those in living in Tier II and III cities. |

Bharti Airtel said on Tuesday it has postponed its second-quarter earnings report to mid-November, as the wireless operator sought clarity on the court ruling asking telecom firms to cough up overdue payments to the government.
Shares of the company, which was expected to release its quarterly numbers later in the day, dropped 3.3 per cent in early trade. |

The rupee on Monday opened eight paise lower at 70.96 against the US dollar amid drop in crude oil prices and rise in Asian equities. The domestic unit on Friday closed almost flat at 70.88 against after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in a widely expected move cut key interest rates by 0.25 percentage point. On a weekly basis, the local unit slumped by 32 paise. |

In the first five months of the current financial year, first-year premiums of life insurance companies grew by 39.84% (year-on-year) at Rs 1.05 lakh crore as compared to Rs 75,588.35 crore in April-August of 2018-19. Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) continued to grow at a faster pace compared to private insurance players, shows the data from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (Irdai). |

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise (AHEL) has ruled out further dilution of promoters’ stake in the company. The company also said its Rs 1,337-crore stake sale of Apollo Munich Health Insurance with mortgage major HDFC will be concluded by October. Following these stake sales, the promoters’ pledged position will come down from a high of 76% to 54% by October and eventually to 20% by November or December, company sources said here. |
