The Idea Rs 149 recharge pack apparently replaces the Idea Rs 199 recharge pack that comes with a benefit of 1GB data, unlimited calls, and 100 SMSes per day for a validity of 28 days. It should be noted that the Rs 149 recharge pack earlier provided 1GB data per day, daily 100 SMS, and unlimited calls for a 21-day validity. This pack is neither listed on the MyIdea app nor on the Idea website as of now, however, the IVR message received by us claims to offer the above-mentioned data and calling benefits for 28 days now. We have reached out to Idea Cellular to confirm the changes made to the tariff plan and will update the article post-confirmation.

After the revamp made to the Rs 149 recharge pack, the data, calling, and SMS benefits will be similar to the ones offered under the Rs 199 recharge pack. It is currently unclear whether the latter will be rejigged to offer more data or more validity or both to the customers. Additionally, it is also not clear whether this refreshed Rs 149 pack will be open to more customers in coming days. As we said, the new validity under the Rs 149 recharge pack is only available to select customers while the other customers will still see the 21-day validity on their Idea numbers.

Idea earlier this week introduced the Rs 109 recharge pack that comes with unlimited local, national, and roaming calls, along with 1GB data and 100 SMSes per day for a validity of 14 days. It also launched a new Rs 397 recharge pack for prepaid customers providing 5GB data, unlimited calls – local, national, and roaming outgoing, and 100 SMSes for a validity of 84 days.
