Mercedes-Benz to produce only BS VI compliant diesel models in India

German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz said on Monday that all its diesel models in India from now on will have engines which comply with Bharat Stage (BS) VI emission norms. The company, which launched Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupe starting at Rs 25.5 million, has already launched one BS VI compliant diesel model S-Class ( S 350 d) in the country in February this year. |

German Automaker, Daimler AG has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with The National Logistics Cell (NLC), Pakistan to set up a manufacturing unit of Mercedes‐Benz trucks in Pakistan. In a statement released by NLC, the company confirms that Daimler AG will locally assemble Mercedes-Benz Trucks in Pakistan and marks a major shift in the logistics and transportation industry’s preference towards European manufacturers. |

Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been known for being one of the most luxurious saloons the world has ever seen. Among the German Luxury car manufacturers, Mercedes-Benz has perhaps the strongest hold in the Indian subcontinent. Having recently announced their sales for 2017-18 and reasserting their leadership in the country having sold as many as 16,236 cars. The company, which had sold 13,259 units in 2016-17, also said in the January-March period it sold 4,556 units as against 3,650 units in the year-ago period, up 24.8 per cent. |

German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz today launched Grand Edition of its flagship SUV GLS in India with both petrol and diesel powertrains priced at Rs 8.69 million. The GLS 350 d comes with a 3-litre V6 diesel engine producing 258 horsepower while GLS 400 features a V6 petrol engine that delivers 333 horsepower. |

MUMBAI: Mercedes-Benz, the top luxury-car brand in India, expects to sustain double-digit growth in 2018, provided there aren’t any more policy disruptions during the year to add to the budget proposal to increase the duty on imported kits and components. To build on the momentum from 2017, when its India sales rose 16% to 15,330 units, Mercedes-Benz will be launching 10 products this year. |

The Indian luxury car market is becoming a tale of missed opportunities with frequent changes in tax policy, the country’s biggest luxury car player, Mercedes Benz, has said. Sales of luxury vehicles account for just 1 per cent of the Indian market of over 3 million cars a year. This is low against an average 3-5 per cent in most other countries. |

German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz today said it has launched the enhanced version of its flagship product Mercedes-Benz S-Class -- S 350 d diesel, and also the S 450 petrol -- in India at a price starting from Rs 1.33 crore. While the Mercedes-Benz S 350 d is priced at Rs 1.33 crore, the petrol version S 450 is priced at Rs 1.37 crore, the company said in a statement. |
