The Xtreme Sports is based on the brand’s popular 150cc machine – the Xtreme, and features a few cosmetic and mechanical upgrades to make it capable of taking on the Suzuki Gixxer and the Yamaha FZ Version 2.0.

To visually differentiate it from the standard Xtreme, Hero MotoCorp has equipped the Xtreme Sports with a redesigned cowl near the fuel tank and one underneath the engine.

Other upgrades include a wider rear tyre, new handle bar, split seats and new front and rear fenders. Hero has also included a revised instrument cluster as a part of the package.

The headlamp unit gets LED DRL strips, just like the ones on the new Xtreme. In true Hero fashion, the new Xtreme Sports will get new decals and colour schemes.

While the Xtreme Sports will employ the same 149.2cc used in the standard Xtreme, reports suggest that the power has been increased from 14.2bhp to 15.2bhp.

The torque figure has been retained at 12.8Nm. The engine will come mated to the same five-speed constant mesh gearbox.

Other mechanical upgrades include a new five-step adjustable rear suspension. The model will also get an option of a disc brake at the rear, for better stopping power.

The Hero Xtreme Sports enjoys a peak power of 15.2 Bhp and a torque of 12.80 Nm. Expected to be priced at INR 75,000, this bike will bring along some much needed freshness to the CBZ brand.

Hero MotoCorp has announced a new variant of the Xtreme, called the Xtreme Sports. The bike is powered by a 149.2cc, air-cooled engine, aka the same Honda motor which is now very famous for powering a slew of vehicles.

The bike uses telescopic front forks and 5-step adjustable twin shocks at the rear. Braking duties are performed by a 240 mm disc at the front and 130 mm drum at the rear (220 mm rear disc is optional).
