| Chi Mei Optoelectronics Corporation | | Chi Mei company is one of the world's largest makers of TFT-LCD (thin-film transistor liquid-crystal display) flat-panel displays. TFT-LCD panels -- small, lightweight, low-power, and high-resolution -- are used in notebook, desktop monitor, and TV applications. CMO also makes color filters, and is developing OLED (organic light-emitting diode) displays. The company was launched in 1998, but really took off when it purchased a TFT-LCD fab (and licensed the related intellectual property) from IBM in 2001. Exports, primarily to Asia, make up about two-thirds of CMO's sales. | | Visit Website | | Office Address | No.3, Sec. 1, Huansi Rd.,, Southern Taiwan Science Park
