| Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH & Co KG | | KMW Schweisstechnik GmbH (KMWS) is a 100% subsidiary of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH & Co. KG (KMW), and has been an internationally recognised partner for the manufacture of welded wheeled and tracklaying vehicles for approximately 50 years.
The core expertise of KMWS is the welding of assemblies made from high-strength steel with extremely high tensile strength. The company manufactures casings made from hardened and tempered special steels for ballistic protection (”armoured steel”) and supporting structures made from fine-grained structural steel using its highly-qualified employees and in-depth technical welding know-how. Over the last few decades, the company has manufactured more than 10,000 casings for domestic and foreign customers for the KMW Leopard 1 and Leopard 2 combat tank series, for example. KMWS therefore combines well-tried expertise in the manufacture of casings using thick sheet metal for heavy combat vehicles and state-of-the-art manufacture of lightweight construction casings using cold-formed precision blanks made from thin sheet metal for the latest air-portable vehicles. The company is involved in the majority of the KMW group’s vehicle projects, for which it manufactures casings made from armoured steel. | | Visit Website | | Office Address | Krauss-Maffei-Strasse 11,
