The company also produces hardwood lumber, decking, and flooring. Its woods can be found on the deck of Bill Gates' mansion, in Martin guitars, and in Steinway pianos. Englishman Lewis Thompson founded Thompson Mahogany in 1840 as a cabinet and furniture business that imported mahogany for its own uses.
