Clarendon's particular forte was specialty insurance, but all four of its property/casualty insurance companies are now in run off, meaning that they are no longer writing new business and are only servicing existing policies. In 2006 Clarendon spun off its ongoing property and casualty business as a separate entity called Praetorian Financial Group, to assume Clarendon's renewal business.
