| Federico Paternina, S.A. |  | Paternina makes part of the history of Spanish wine, of the history of La Rioja. It was inaugurated in 1896 and since then this Riojan wine cellar has been faithful to its history yet at the same time renewing itself. For dinner or dessert, Federico Paternina fills the glass. The company produces and distributes wine from Spain's famed La Rioja region. Its labels include Banda Azul, Clos, Conde de los Andes, and Monte Haro. Though wine provides a great majority of the company's sales, Paternina also produces brandy and sherry. Paternina sells worldwide, but Spain accounts for most of its revenues. The Eguiz�bal family bought the seized Federico Paternina vineyards in an auction (from the Spanish government) for a single peseta in 1984. Chairman Marcos Eguiz�bal Ramirez owns more than 80% of the company.
